The kick off: how the Spartans sealed the deal, one goal at a time

TALISAY CITY, Philippines — the PTOT Spartans reigned supreme against the Nursing Blue Knights in the championship men’s soccer game held in Dynamic Herb Sports Complex last October 19, 2023.

Under Cebu’s sunny skies, the anticipated men’s soccer championship game kept the fierce PTOT Spartans and the mighty Nursing Blue Knights on their toes. Whispers of possible forfeiture due to unforeseen circumstances of the team that bleeds blue tantalized the filled bleachers by the soccer field.

The day was full of thrill as the men’s soccer teams took control of the ball and played their hearts out, securing as many goals as they could and defending themselves from their opponents with all the strength they could muster with the intent of achieving “champion” status. Eventually, PTOT and Nursing emerged as the two competing teams for the prestigious victory.

However, right before the championship game, a challenge stunned the Nursing soccer team — it had come to everyone’s attention that there was a low player availability after injuries plagued their team. With careful consideration and discussion among both teams and the game officials, the awaited championship game rolled in favor of the Spartans after the official forfeiture of the Blue Knights, awarding the PTOT men’s soccer team as the zealous champions.

From the first game until the last, the passion of every athlete fired up the entire complex, igniting the energy of teammates and the bench cheerers alike. The dynamic teamwork exhibited by the players gave the spectators numerous spectacular game moments with incredible goals.
